Christoph Scherer

Drums are his passion.
Christoph Scherer started off  in a brass band, and later he played in the military brass band of the Heeresmusikkorps 10. After his training at Music College in Krumbach and at the Federal Academy for Musical Youth Education in Trossingen, he turned his hobby into a profession.

Christoph was a member of the German Youth Jazz Orchestra, under the artistic direction of Peter Herbolzheimer. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim. “Pure rhythm” was the motto of his studies at the Escola de Musica / Universidade Federal da Bahia in Brazil, which he had won a scholarship to.

Since his graduation in 2006, Christoph has been a free-lance drummer and percussionist who is at home in many styles. He has worked with the BuJazzO, Ciaan, Gregor Meyle, Cassandra Steen, Siyou, Hellmut Hattler, Wolfgang Kehle, Saxofourte feat. Peter Weniger and Peter Autschbach's Terminal A.
